THE ACT
ACT
The ACT is administered on Saturdays, just as the SATs, but never on conflicting dates. ACT is also offered in September in the state of Kentucky, so this is an excellent advantage for students needing an early standardized test date. The ACT has four sections, each of which count as 25% of the composite score: Reading, English, Science, and Math. Registration is available online at www.actstudent.org
When to Take: Students are encouraged to take the ACT at least once their sophomore year. By taking it in the fall they can see their level of college-readiness and decide if they will need to re-take in order to be admitted into dual credit courses their junior year. Students should then take the test during their junior and senior years until they are satisfied with their scores. College admission and scholarships are based, in a large part, on the student's test scores as well as their strength of course load during high school.

Pre-ACT Test Beginning in 2016, Rose Hill will be offering this new test to all sophomores. By taking this exam, students will have an indication of their college-readiness and be able to better prepare themselves for the ACT.
